7 Seas
Game Design | Monetization Design | Retention Design | Level Design | GDD | Sound Design
7 Seas is a mobile game developed by Big Hut in association with Bulkypix. It was officially released in November, 6th of 2015, for worldwide iOS and Android devices.

7 Seas is a match 3 game with a very interesting twist: Player must match the gems in order to destroy layers of rocks and sand to make space for his pirate ship to pass through. Here, the main objective is to reach the end of the stage and collect the treasures before you run out of movements.

There is also another interesting twist: Player have to select the members of his crew among a variety of pirate animals. Each one of them has a powerful ability that can help during the match 3 game. Player can upgrade their effects with Grog and switch them as he pleases.

7 Seas was a very long project, and I worked as Game Designer, from the early stages of game Pitch and concept, to nowadays, where I check out the analytics to plan our next steps. I was able to work with my team to create the whole experience, writting game documengs (GDD) with all game details and directions to help out the team and also to inform the game development to Bulkypix. I was also able to work on the Level Design and game balance steps to improve the game retention and monetization. One of the things I am proud in this work is that I was able to increase the 30 day retention to 45% only through Level Design, and was able to increase the ARPPU to $1,50 with some gamification strategies applied to the whole game loop.
